AI Agents for Business: A Practical Buyer's Checklist

"AI agent" gets used for everything from a chatbot widget to a fully autonomous pipeline. Before adopting one for your business, it helps to separate the marketing language from what you can actually verify.

Does it do one job well, or ten jobs badly? Narrow, reliable agents (drafting LinkedIn posts, managing a CRM pipeline, answering support questions from your docs) tend to outperform agents that promise to run your whole business.

Can you see and approve what it does before it acts? For anything that touches your public reputation — social posts, customer replies, outbound emails — a review step before publishing is not a nice-to-have, it's a requirement.

What happens to your data if you stop using it? Ask whether you can export contacts, drafts, or history, and for how long your data stays available after cancellation.

Is pricing honest about what's included? Watch for agents that look free in a demo but gate the useful features behind an enterprise sales call. A pricing page that lists exactly what's included per agent, like ours does, is a good sign either way — for us or for whoever else you're evaluating.

Every agent on pickMyAIAgent is built around these same questions: one job, a human approval step, exportable data, and transparent pricing.
